We Indians enjoy winters famous veggie i.e Spinach in our style. Spinach is a leaf plant full of endless benefits like Iron, Vit.C,E, Potassium, Magnesium and so on. This is served like this in many popular cities one of the is Delhi, heart of India. Once you eat like this, you will enjoy it more. We will add multiple things to it like Probiotic curd, pomogranate seeds, onion (if you wish to), fritter namkeen (Haldiram is available everywhere) and so on. You can add nuts too.

  • A round pan or small wok


  • 250g Spinach
  • Oil for frying

Spices & batter to fry :-

  • 4 tbsp Gramflour / besan
  • 1/2 cup Water as needed
  • 1/4 tsp Pomogranate seed powder / anardana/ amchur
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric / haldi powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Thyme / ajowain crushed
  • 1 tsp Black salt

For garnishing :-

  • 4 tbsp Curd
  • 1 tbsp Tamarind chutney
  • 1 tbsp Coriander chutney
  • 1 tbsp Bhujia/ Sev/ Boondi
  • 1 tsp Pomogranate seeds
  • 1 tsp Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 tsp Crushed & Roasted peanuts & cashew
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Roasted & crushed Cumin powder
  • Few small Cottage cheese cubes
  • Few Chopped onion


  • Clean & wash spinach leaves nicely. Cut leaf part and you can use stem part in curry. Let it dry. Until then we will make a batter.
  • For frying, we will make a batter of gramflour and all the spices written in the particular section. This may vary to your taste. Make a dropping consistency batter by adding water to it. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
  • Keep oil for heating. We will fry on medium - low flame. Dip spinach leaf in the above batter then in wok for frying. You can pan fry it but the results are not same. It is less delicious.
  • After frying add to the plate. Serve 3-4 spinach leaf frittered, some curd, chutneys, nuts, pomogranate seeds, onion, cottage cheese small cubes, some pepper, salt, cumin powder. Mix and serve rapidly.
  • Consume at the same time. It is crispy , tasty and refreshing. It just make my mind blow. I love it.



  1. Deep fry is the better option, pan frying doesn't make it crispy.
  2. Curd should be sweet, if not you can add some sugar to it.
  3. Spinach needs to be fried on medium flame as suggested to give proper texture.
  4. Any kind of nut used should be roasted well and crushed.
  5. Some spices are used for garnishing, do it like that please. Try and make the chaat this way, you'll surely enjoy your day/evening.
